About this driver
Intel UHD / Iris Xe Graphics drivers cover the integrated GPU on virtually every Intel laptop and most desktop CPUs since 8th gen. Even if you have a dedicated GPU (NVIDIA/AMD) in a laptop, the Intel iGPU is also active — Windows uses it for many tasks to save battery, and outdated Intel drivers can cause display flicker or HDMI audio issues even on dedicated-GPU systems.
Intel splits drivers into two streams: DCH (Declarative Componentized Hardware — newer) and Standard (older OEM versions). Most users want DCH. If your laptop manufacturer (Dell/HP/Lenovo) provides their own version, use theirs instead — they tune for specific hardware.
Common issues: HDMI audio missing (caused by Intel driver missing audio component), display flicker after Windows update, and external monitor not detected after wake from sleep.
Installation steps
Check If Your Laptop Vendor Has Their Own Driver
If you have a Dell, HP, Lenovo, ASUS, etc. laptop, visit their support page first and search by model. Vendor drivers are tuned for your specific hardware and often more stable than Intel's generic version.
Or Download from Intel Directly
Visit Intel's Download Center and search 'Intel Graphics Driver'. Choose the matching package for Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). The package is ~350 MB.
Install with Existing Driver Active
Intel's installer handles upgrades cleanly — no need to uninstall first. Run the .exe and follow prompts. Choose 'Clean Installation' option when offered.
Restart and Test
After install + restart, open Intel Arc Control or the legacy Intel Graphics Command Center (depending on driver version) to verify it loaded.
