Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
PCDoc (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use pcdoc.io (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Depending on how you use the Site, this may include:
- Information you provide. When you contact us or request remote help, you may share your name, email address, and a description of your PC issue. You choose what to send.
- Usage data. Like most websites, our servers and analytics may automatically log your IP address, browser type, device, referring page, and the pages you visit. This is used in aggregate to understand traffic.
- Cookies. We use cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, analytics, and affiliate attribution (see Section 4).
2. How we use information
- To respond to your questions and remote help requests.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its content.
- To measure traffic and understand which guides are helpful.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Remote support sessions
Remote technical support is provided by our partner technicians. Any remote session is initiated only with your explicit, one-time permission using standard tools such as TeamViewer or AnyDesk. You can pause or end any session at any time. We do not store, copy, or access your personal files unless it is directly necessary for the fix you requested. See our Get Help page for details.
4. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies to keep the Site working, to understand usage through analytics, and to attribute affiliate referrals. Affiliate cookies let our partners (e.g., the vendors of tools we review) know that a visit came from PCDoc, so we may earn a commission if you make a purchase. See our Affiliate Disclosure. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work without them.
5. Third-party services
The Site links to and may rely on third-party services, including analytics providers, affiliate networks, and the official websites of the tools and drivers we cover. Those third parties have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. We are not affiliated with Microsoft, Apple, or any product manufacturer.
6. Data retention & security
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law, then delete or anonymize it. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Children’s privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
